Led a birding hike on Teddy Roosevelt Island yesterday
morning followed by lunch in Rosslyn "birding and
beer!" I thought it would be a good day for migrants
but we couldn't find any except for lots of Robins.
Perhaps the Flickers and Brown Thrasher that we
observed were migrants, too. A group of birders that
we ran into during the walk reported just a few
Gnatcatchers and Redstarts.

Neatest sighting was an adult Bald Eagle soaring over
Rosslyn. May have been up to 3 birds, as we saw an
adult two more times in the area. Also, great look at
Osprey catching a fish.

Should have been a good weekend for migrants in the DC
area but I didn't see much either morning.
