The WHIMBREL was still present this morning at Mayo Beach (South of

All,
Somebody educate me (if that's possible. My brain fell out my ear a long
time ago). Are Whimbrels all that rare in MD?
The winter map on them comes well up the coast. I'm not saying they
would be as common as Northern Lapwings, Townsend Warblers, Hammonds
Flycatchers and others we regularly have flitting around the yard here, but
I've been trying to get a grip on the fuss over this one. Maybe it's just
me.

I do know that Ravens are getting more common. A hike in the Catoctins
Sunday, I had 3 of them fly over. They didn't used to hang out there much.
Then I came home and there were some on my TV, too, but they had
funny-looking spacesuits on. There were some other guys in space suits and
they were all fighting over a pumpkin in a sort of cow pasture-looking thing
with lines all over it.*
