Hi Bud, et al.
We did have one Maryland record last year in Havre de Grace of the
European nominate subspecies of Whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus
phaeopus). Look for a more overall colder gray bird than our
Hudsonian Whimbrel (N. p. hudsonicus) with a white rump and white
underwing coverts.
