Bob,

Doris and I saw the Black Vultures and she saw the Raven being chased by
a bunch of Fish Crows, also a Black-throated Blues and Black-throated
Green. Counted over 50 Vultures in the tree and on the small island in
the Potomac at the aqueduct bridge. I've attached a photo. It was
mid-day on Friday. I would have re'd the message on the Osprey but when
I tried to rejoin having left it before a trip I received a message
stating the list serve had reached its maximum. Black Vultures are not
show as migrating in Sibley and that's the general scuttlebutt although
I've heard that questioned. So they would not have been a migratory
group. They do roost in large groups sometimes early in the evening but
we saw them mid afternoon and you fairly late in the morning. Except for
evening roosting B.V. I've never seen the likes before. Even a dead deer
bring forth but a few. You can forward this message to the Osprey if you
like since you appear to have an in.
