After reading Jim Stasz's report from Saturday, I checked out Assateague
Island National Seashore this morning. Having never been there before, I didn't
know for sure where to go. So here's where I looked:
Bayside Drive (end of road parking lot)
Life of the Marsh Nature Trail (off Bayside)
Life of the Forest Nature Trail (off Bayberry Drive)
A nice birding couple from Salisbury told me they had been at the Life of the
Forest Nature Trail (off Bayberry Drive) and had warblers so I headed there.
Most of the warblers were between stops 3 and 4 on the trail. Here's what I
saw/heard:
American Black Duck
Double-crested Cormorant
Great Egret
Semipalmated Plover
Ring-billed Gull
Herring Gull
Greater Yellowlegs
Dowitcher sp.
Forster's Tern
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker
White-eyed Vireo
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Wren
Gray Catbird
Yellow Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Pine Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Palm Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Eastern Towhee
