I birded Blairs Valley, Big Pool, Beaver Creek, and Mt Aetna Camp today. An Orange-crowned Warbler was the best find, some new arrivals, and two likely new butterfly county records(making what will likely be 3 this week). Blairs Valley Canada Goose 2 Mallard 3 Northern Bobwhite 18 Pied-billed Grebe 1 Great Blue Heron 3 Black Vulture 4 Turkey Vulture 12 Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 Red-tailed Hawk 1 Killdeer 10 Solitary Sandpiper 1 Wilson's Snipe 1 Rock Pigeon 4 Mourning Dove 6 Belted Kingfisher 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker 4 Downy Woodpecker 8 Northern Flicker 2 Pileated Woodpecker 2 Eastern Phoebe 6 Blue Jay 230 American Crow 10 Fish Crow 1 Common Raven 1 Carolina Chickadee 10 Tufted Titmouse 3 White-breasted Nuthatch 1 Carolina Wren 4 House Wren 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 Eastern Bluebird 4 American Robin 60 Gray Catbird 5 Northern Mockingbird 15 Brown Thrasher 1 European Starling 5 Cedar Waxwing 8 Orange-crowned Warbler 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler 3 Black-throated Green Warbler 1 Ovenbird 2 Common Yellowthroat 2 Eastern Towhee 9 Chipping Sparrow 2 Field Sparrow 14 Song Sparrow 24 Lincoln's Sparrow 2 Swamp Sparrow 2 White-throated Sparrow 13 Dark-eyed Junco 1 Northern Cardinal 28 Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1 Indigo Bunting 87 Purple Finch 1 House Finch 1 American Goldfinch 37 At Big Pool I found another Purple Finch and a Red-breasted Nuthatch.
