hello bob

the area was on the right, before you get to the nest where the cam was.  it was the only spot on the right that really had water and was where 95% of the shorebirds were on the wildlife drive.

the birds were all together, we got to hear them call as they lifted and came back down.

the shortbilled has more markings on them than the longbilled does.

the under belly is paler and plainer than the longbilled.

had they not both been together, it would have been easy to call them all longbilled as we thought it was not as common to see shortbills right now.

we looked at the small sibleys and the new national geographic.
