Hi Everyone,

I had the opportunity to do a quick lap around and Middle Patuxent
Environmental Area in Howard Co. around lunchtime today. I was pleasantly
surprised by how much activity I found there, especially when I pulled up
to find construction near the trailhead. Does anyone know what's going on
with the construction near the entrance on Trotter Road?

Full list:

Turkey Vulture--3
Accipiter sp.--1
Mourning Dove--4
Red-bellied Woodpecker--5
Downy Woodpecker--2
Hairy Woodpecker--1

Carolina Chickadee--6
Tufted Titmouse--5
RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH--1
White-breasted Nuthatch--3
BROWN CREEPER--1 (my first of fall)
Carolina Wren--5
House Wren--1
WINTER WREN--1 (my first of fall)
American Robin--13
Gray Catbird--2
Black-throated Blue Warbler--2
Myrtle Warbler--1
Eastern Towhee--13

Highlights from a run through Weinberg Park (AA Co.) yesterday included
Red-breasted Nuthatch (my first in this area actually), my first
Golden-crowned Kinglet of the fall, a Black-and-white Warbler, and the
first sizable flock of White-throated Sparrows I've seen around here.
Towhees are also certainly on the move.

Good birding,

Bill
