Finzel Swamp was quite blustery and wet this morning; nevertheless, there
were still some birds around. Most notably, I saw my first of the fall
White-crowned Sparrow. Here are some species observed between 7:45 and
8:45AM:
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2 immature
Ruffed Grouse - 1
Great Blue Heron - 1 migrating south
Eastern Bluebird - 6+
Swamp Sparrow
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow - 15+
White-crowned Sparrow - 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 4
Eastern Phoebe - 2
Also, apparently a Connecticut Warbler was seen at Finzel Swamp yesterday
October 11, according to the logbook. Does anyone know anything about this?
Good birding,
David
