N. Arundel: 10/26/07: More Snow Geese and other waterfowl, etc.

Hello all. 

I managed a couple of good hours of birding between rain showers this 
morning. 

I found some of Stan Arnold's Snow Geese today over Weinberg Park. There 
were 40 of them and they flew right over Bill Hubick's house!  Also had 
Bufflehead, Ruddy Duck and great numbers for Hermit Thrush as well as an 
excellent sparrow flight.

Totals:

Weinberg Park, Pasadena: 

Double-crested Cormorant: 30  most of them were perched on 'White Rocks'
Great Blue Heron: 1
SNOW GOOSE: 40  Low flyover, heard then seen
Canada Goose: 30+
Mallard: 32
BUFFLEHEAD: 45  Rock Creek
RUDDY DUCK: 15 Rock Creek
Turkey Vulture: 1
Ring-billed Gull: 21
Herring Gull: 4
Great Black-backed Gull: 15+  On 'White Rocks'
Mourning Dove: 2
Red-bellied Woodpecker: 3
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER: 1
Downy Woodpecker: 3
Hairy Woodpecker: 1
Northern Flicker: 2
Eastern Phoebe: 1
Blue Jay: 6
American Crow: 2
Carolina Chickadee: 7
Tufted Titmouse: 4

Ruby-crowned Kinglet: 4  In a small foraging flock
HERMIT THRUSH: 6  Off of the main trail in the same group of trees

Palm Warbler: 4  yellow
Northern Cardinal: 14

Field Sparrow: 2  Mixed in with the Chippies and 2 of the Songs

White-throated Sparrow: 18
White-crowned Sparrow: 1 first winter (several have been seen in the area)
Dark-eyed Junco: 12  In 2 small flocks
Red-winged Blackbird: 35+
Common Grackle: 4
American Goldfinch: 6
