Saturday morning at dawn a Black-bellied Plover was on the polo field on
Hughs Road.

Two Dunlin were at Violettes Lock, riding downriver on floating debris.
Friday evening 10 Common Terns were there, and a few were still around this
morning. After the rain stopped, several each of Harriers and Ospreys, and a few
Coopers and Merlins got up and started flying around.

From the towpath at mile marker 28 (above Sycamore Landing) I was able to
overlook the lakes on the turf farm. Present at mid morning were about 4
Black-bellied Plovers, 8 American Golden Plovers, 40 Dunlin, 20 Pectorals, and a few
Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Yellowlegs, and Semi/Westerns, along with 100
Killdeer. The young Eagles that like to sit on the turf kept the shorebirds stirred
up.
