This past Saturday, I was able to spend some time in Central Park in New
York City after tagging along for something my Dad had to be at. In around
40 minutes, I observed:
Palm Warbler 5
Brown Creeper 1
Ovenbird 1
White Breasted Nuthatch 2
Northen Cardinal 2
Yellow Rumped Warbler 3
Ruby Crowned Kinglet 5
Golden Crowned Kinglet 4
All three warbler species were very cooperative. I can only imagine what
its like here at the height of spring migration. The birds are so used to
the noise and huge numbers of people walking through the park that you can
get within a few feet of them! Pictures posted at
