I went to Great Oak Landing pond mid-morning today (about 10 a.m.).
Anna Urciolo and a nice young man whose name starts with K were already
there. Great Oak Landing pond had an abundant number of Snow and Canada
Geese (including the surrounding fields). The other birds in the pond
included many Mallards, 2 ROSS'S GEESE, 1 BRANT, 2 Lesser Scaup, 2
Bufflehead, 25 Ruddy Duck and 1 American Pipit.
Anna and I continued to Chesapeake Farms and Eastern Neck NWR.
Chesapeake Farms
Many Canada Geese
Ducks, including Northern Shoveler, Northern Pintail, and Ruddy Duck
plus 1 Palm Warbler.
Eastern Neck NWR was awash in Palm Warblers. Other birds of interest
included Eastern Meadowlark and American Pipit.
A little windy, but a very nice day.
