This morning my son Drew and I were heading out to my truck for a ride up to 
his bus stop. Just as I went to lift the door handle of the truck, I heard the 
twittering of a displaying Woodcock. As he started to desend I locked my sight 
onto him in the early light of the morning. He dropped into the woods just 
behind my house and gave 2 of the ground notes 'weent' sound. 
I thought that was pretty cool. I can recall a few other times off season 
woodcocks doing a display.
