Patience pays off, and we finally got *our* first PINE
SISKIN today! (Yard bird #82.) As has been reported by
others, this individual was among a swarm of AMERICAN
GOLDFINCHES and HOUSE FINCHES at our nyjer and safflower
feeders (I looked for purples, but none seen today). Also
today, an appearance by a lone RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD
(male)---we don't get this species often at our feeders.
Yesterday a COOPER'S HAWK nabbed a MOURNING DOVE -- ouch!
