Hi all --

Cold and very frosty this morning at Layhill Prk, Mont. Co., -- it took quite a while for there to be much bird activity. However some nice birds were seen, most at the North end (at the bridge and then, in the scrubby areas along the path from the soccer field):

Grea Blue Heron (1)
Belted Kingfisher (1)
Cooper's Hawk (1 adult)
Red-shouldered Hawk (2, one a very small male)
Yellow-belled Sapsucker (1)
BROWN THRASHER (1, So. end)
Winter Wren (3)
Myrtle Warbler (4)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (1)
White-throated Sparrow (40+)
Song Sparrow (25+)
Junco (10+)
Field Sparrow (6-8)
Swamp Sparrow (4)
FOX SPARROW (2)
Towhee (1)
PURPLE FINCH (15+, most at north end, including several bright adult males. These were feeding in the abundant berries.)
Cedar Waxwing (at least 25 in several flocks)
Bluebird (10+)
Also perhaps 100 Robins and many Blue Jays and Goldfinches around. No Siskins.

Also a very furry Red Fox which came into pishing (!) and then stood regarding us with curiosity, obviously hadn't seen too many humans.
