Yesterday and today were not good days to be a thistle seed at my house.
Yesterday I had about 2 dozen American Goldfinches and at least 3 Pine
Siskins. Today, the goldfinch numbers dropped to about a dozen but I had at
least 9 Pine Siskins chowing down on the thistle as well as the sunflower seed.
Also present were at least 2 Red-breasted Nuthatches coming to the suet.

The eagle looked down on the river below
And he wrapped his wings round him and he fell like a stone
And the big salmon fought but the talons held true
And he shuddered as the world turned from silver to blue
