Fort Smallwood Park: Waterfowl and Siskins

Hello all.

Some good birds have come through in the last couple of days at Fort 
Smallwood, including a smattering of waterfowl, but from some interesting 
species. Also had 2 Pine Siskins by the gate yesterday which were fun to see. 

Highlights:

Sunday, 11/11:

American Black Duck: 1 male, on the pond
Hooded Merhanser: 6  Pond
Bufflehead: 10+
Lesser Scaup: 4
LONG-TAILED DUCK: 6  Patapsco River
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER: 3  Flyover, not common here al all
PINE SISKIN: 2 heard and seen outside of the park entrance

Monday: 11/12:

Mallard: 12
Hooded Merganser: 12
Bufflehead: 15  in 2 small groups
Lesser Scaup: 1 female
LONG-TAILED DUCK: 20+ in 2 small rafts
Bald Eagle: 1  One adult and one 4th year being harassed by a Great Black-
backed Gull.
