Around 3 PM today (11/12) I saw a Merlin along Jennings Chapel Road, about 
1 mile west of Route 97.  It was perched in the branches of a large roadside 
tree next to a field of pumpkins and last summer's sunflowers. The Merlin was 
probably the reason a large flock of goldfinches was circling over, but not 
landing in the sunflower field during the time I was there.
