Hi everyone,
Looking out at my feeders moments ago I spied a very heavily streaked
"brownie" Purple Finch, first perched on a feeder pole then feeding on the ground.
#79 and counting! Haven't seen the siskins yet today but will keep an eye
out.

Also, I was lamenting the fact that I wasn't getting any Blue Jays at my
feeders though they are all over the property edges. This morning I had at least
a dozen on and around the platform feeder and in the small dogwood tree
adjacent to it. A change in selection of food and the cold and they have
discovered my cafeteria!

It was 25 degrees here this morning so I broke out the birdbath heater for
the season. We had an electrical outlet installed at the base of the dogwood so
I can plug it in close to the feeders without dangling the cord all over the
 yard. Nice!

Fill your feeders, keep your eyes peeled!
