Two nights ago, in the wee hours, I had a small flock of Tundra swans also -
flying along South Mountain as their guide, obviously. Absolutely
captivating. I've heard them most often at night on their return migration
- I can remember hearing some incredibly large flocks flying in the dead of
night this exact time of year when I lived in Laurel. It's good to have
them back on their home territory (yes, a migratory bird's wintering ground
is it's "normal" home).
