Sorry for the late posting, but on Monday November 12th, we caught and
banded a hatch-year Northern Shrike. The bird was not seen before we found
it in the net nor has it been seen since its release. Perhaps we should be on
the lookout for other shrikes....
On the theme of other good "winter" birds, we have also had daily Purple Finch
flyovers and several days of Pine Siskins in addition to the numerous Red-
breasted Nuthatches that seem to be everywhere.
