Mikey Lutmerding, Jo Anna Leachman, Bill Hubick, and I found an adult
Northern Shrike in Garrett County this morning. Mikey first spotted the bird,
and Bill got some distant pictures.

The bird was located on the south side of Mosser Rd., just west of the
intersection of Rock Lodge Rd. Mosser Rd. runs east from Rt 219 in McHenry
on Deep Creek Lake. There are pulloffs on both sides of the road to park.
The bird perched on top of several different trees adjacent to the blue
warehouse building, generally favoring the most distant snags.

A possible immature Northern Shrike was reported earlier in the week in this
same area.
