Harford County: Someone should tell these Wild Turkeys Thanksgiving is NEXT
week! Almost every day now for the past three weeks (Oct. 25 - Nov 14),
upwards to 14 Wild Turkeys have been browsing a woodland clearing here in
Edgwood, MD just before dusk. I guess it would be one thing if they were
hardly noticed, however, I'm driving to within 20 yds of these WILD Turkeys.

Yesterday (11/14) I had my second Merlin here in Edgewood, with the first
occurring last week (11/7). The Merlin last week was actively hunting and
causing quite the aerial ruckus.

Finally, after having early season success with Red-breasted Nuthatches and
Purple Finch, I thought the over abundant Pine Siskin were going to leave me
out. But Sat. (11/10) a single Pine Siskin finally showed at our Creswell
feeder. Interestingly, while testing a new speedlight flash, I happened to pan
upon the siskin at a thistle feeder via the camera. The siskin stuck around for
about 30 minutes; the same amount of time I was playing with added toy.
Never saw the siskin again - talk about timing!
