Today I went to Blackwater NWR to see the Lark Sparrow. I arrived at 8 am
and joined up with the bird walk led by Harry Armistead. We started looking
for the sparrow with no success and moved on. After the bird walk we spent the
rest of are time looking for the sparrow. At about lunch time a birder from
the earlier walk directed us to the Lark Sparrow who was in a grove of trees
near the drive way. We got a long close look at the bird who was oblivious to
traffic. That was my first Lark Sparrow. I'm also happy to report that the
White Pelicans are back.
