I thought this might be of interest (Ryan Farrell pointed it 
out to me): the Carolina Bird Club has put together an 
excellent interactive map (using google maps) that has 
waypoints for top birding spots in North Carolina:

You can zoom in and out, and click on any of the waypoints 
to get detailed info about the site on a separate page. 
Very cool.  Something like this would be great for 
Maryland!...
