    Around noon today, in gentle snow, a visit to Black Walnut Point
revealed the following:
D-C Cormorant -- 5
Great Blue Heron -- 1
Tundra Swan -- 17
Long-taiiled Duck -- 12
Surf Scoter -- 100+
Bufflehead -- 60+
Bald Eagle -- 1
Ring-billed Gull -- 11
Herring Gull -- 8
Great Black-backed Gull -- 3
 
    At Leow's Wharf, as the snow kept falling, there were four Killdeer on
an exposed sandbar.
 
    Back at home this afternoon:
Carolina Chickadee, Tufted Titmouse, Red-breasted Nuthatch, White-breasted
Nuthatch, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Robin and:
Northern Cardinal -- 10+
Towhee -- 1
Fox Sparrow -- 4
White-throated Sparrow -- 20+
Junco -- 12+
Purple Finch -- 4  (one bright adult male; three 'brownies')
House Finch -- 8
Goldfinch -- 6
 
    Only a light dusting of snow on the grass - as of 3:30 p.m.
