First snowfall of the year means I'm going to work late...or declaring it my very
own personal holiday. Hey, I've got a backyard to bird and enjoy...and the
snowfall surely is going to bring something in. The quick list in no specific order:

Red-bellied Woodpecker 2
Downy Woodpecker 2
Hairy Woodpecker 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Cooper's Hawk 1
CHIPPING SPARROW 2 both were still well rufous-capped for this time of year.
Typically I'll get winter Chipping Sparrows in a more winter streaked-headed
plumage. [Yes I know winter starts Dec. 22, but do the birds...]
Red-breasted Nuthatch 2
Eastern "Snow"hee 2
White-throated Sparrows many
Dark-eyed Juncos many
Northern Cardinals 25+
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers 2
plus the other usual cast.

Well off to work - this is too peaceful.
