I was out for a brief birding spin this (Sat., 12/1) morning in DC, and have
the following to report:

2 American Wigeon at Constitution Gardens (the female now a male keeping it
company; new for my DCxDec list)
3 Hooded Mergansers at the Arb, and 1 along the Anacostia River Park
1 Merlin at the Arboretum
110+ Great Black-backed Gulls at the lower mud flat of Anacostia River Park
(a fairly substantial collection is such a small spot). Otherwise the gull
pickings were slim, couldn't even find a Lesser Black-backed.
1 Yellow-rumped Warbler at the Arb.

Couldn't find any finches of note at the Arb today, but there's still a good
number of Robins, E. Bluebirds and others in the area, plus lots of trees
with fruit. Just ripe for something good to show up.

Good birding,
