Hello all.

Our winter wildlife walk yielded, among other things, 11 species of waterfowl.
There was some low fog over Rock Creek which curtailed our counting efforts,
but the overall numbers were good and we got first-of-season Canvasback
and Common Goldeneye, along with a Horned Grebe.

Highlights:

Canada Goose: 45
Mute Swan: 2
Mallard: 22
American Black Duck: 1
Lesser Scaup: 800+ Mouth of Rock Creek
Greater Scaup: 150+ Mouth of Rock Creek
Scaup sp. undiff: 600+ Mouth of Rock Creek
COMMON GOLDENEYE: 10 Mouth of Rock Creek
CANVASBACK: 8 Mixed with the scaup
Long-tailed Duck: 6 Patapsco River
Bufflehead: 40+ Mostly on Rock Creek
Ruddy Duck: 600+ Mixed with the scaup and further out into the river

Also:
HORNED GREBE: 1 Patapsco River, close to 'White Rocks'
