Subject: Blackwater birding - Lark Sparrow still present

Hello everyone,

Claudia Orr and I went to Blackwater today (December 11, starting at the
Visitor Center around 8:30 a.m.) . The first bird we saw as we were on the
road into the VC was the Lark Sparrow. It was in a small grouping of little
trees and shrubs on the left half way in. It gave us a nice long, clear
view. Moved around enough that we were able to see all of the field marks.
Also saw three Delmarva Fox Squirrels, one of which was right along side of
the road and as long as we sat quietly it kept feeding. An excellent good
long look at a close Savannah Sparrow. A good number of Bald Eagles. We
had other sightings but those were the highlights.

We then went to Oakley St in Cambridge. There were all of the usual winter
ducks. That is always a good spot for some close sightings.
