Hi all,
Here are a few highlights from the past 24 hours of birding.
Last night I birded around Russell Road in Garrett County, when I first arrived, I had one flyover EVENING GROSBEAK, and a little before dusk, 2 SHORT-EARED OWLS hunting south of Russell Road, other than that, not much else was going on.
This morning, I birded with Jim Stasz and J.B. Churchill. We started at Finzel Swamp where among few other birds, we had one flyover Red Crossbill. We checked a few other spots before heading towards Deep Creek. On Mosser Road, Jim and I had one sub-adult NORTHERN SHRIKE across from the Deep Creek Storage facility.

Photos of the shrike can be seen at:

Good Birding!
