Here are a few more details, from Keedysville Rd. it was .9 south and from Mansfield Ave. it was .6 north. The field has four fence rows, I watched the bird for about twenty minutes. It was not there later in the afternoon. The bird was an adult, short bill, thick black mask extending over the bill, a small thin white line above the mask over the eye, dark gray rump, back and cap, lighter gray below with a pale throat, and no signs of barring. At first I was slightly disapointed when I got the scope out as Norhtern Shrike would be a county bird. But the field marks all pointed towards Loggerhead which is actually the better bird, and I was just happy to finally find a shrike.
Good birding,
