Hi all. In-between some Christmas shopping today my son Drew and I stopped into the North East Town Park. Lots of Gulls. The gizzard shad are running real heavy and the gulls were very active. They were doing there regular trafficking between the landfill and the park. Lots of gulls were fishing as well. Most of the regulars, Ring-billed, Herring, and Greater Black-backed Gulls. I had 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls way out on the sandbar. There were decent numbers of Bonaparte's flying around some close enough to photograph.
I did have 5 Hooded Mergansers, 9 Common Mergansers, 3 Ring-necked Ducks, 20 Mallards, 5 Black Ducks.
A final stop was at the park across the street from my house at the Elkton Marsh. We had great numbers of Tree Sparrows. Got some photos of them as well.
The real cool shots are of a Ring-billed Gull that caught a Gizzard Shad. They are cool to look at.
Check them out.
