Many sectors of yesterday's Sugarloaf Mountain Christmas Bird Count reported
seeing huge flocks of robins. We (Helen Horrocks and I) are trying to
resolve these reports and avoid double-counting. Specifically, we'd like to
know:
(1) How far do winter robin flocks typically travel to forage during the
day?
(2) Would such flocks tend to stay on one side of the Potomac River, or does
the expanse of water not make a difference to them?
Please contact me off-list if you can help answer these questions. Thanks in
advance!
