I hit a few spots in DC this morning, ended up seeing 44 species. Nothing
outrageous, but I did manage to find 3 birds new for my DCxJan list, this
included:
1 White-crowned Sparrow - immature at the LBJ Grove
3 Wilson's Snipe - flushed from the wet meadow at Anacostia River Park
(along the Metro ROW)
1 "Yellow" Palm Warbler - along the Anacostia River, near the Park Police
station
Also, all the ducks that Gary Allport reported from Constitution Gardens
yesterday were still present today. Big misses were Merlin and Peregrine
(I've come to expect these two species near Hains Pt.) and Bald Eagle.
Good birding,
Paul Pisano
