Walking to my car on the UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County)
Campus late this afternoon I suddenly heard bell jingles coming from the
roof top of the Physics Building (the one with the space observatory on
top). It turned out to come from a Peregrine Falcon sitting on a ledge on
the building! It must have leg straps with bells on them. I will bring
bins and camera to school tomorrow morning and try to relocate the bird
and see if it has leg bands or other identifying marks. From what I could
see, it appeared to be a male and pretty dark on the chest. It had a
distinct dark hood and moustache but did not appear to be fully adult.
Hard to tell without bins though.
