A couple of days ago, I received an amusing voicemail message at work
from my wife. There had been some raucous noise around our house in
North Laurel / Savage, and she and my son thought that it might be
ravens. So she walked outside, called me, and waited for the noise
again. Sure enough, it sounded like ravens. Unfortunately, by the
time I returned her call and asked her to go track them down with our
camcorder, the noise had departed.
I had another interesting siting around here the day after
Christmas. We were driving down Gorman Road towards US 1 when I saw
a large raptor maybe 30 feet overhead - bald eagle! My wife wisely
asked me to pull over to the side of the road, and we watched as it
circled 2 or 3 times before flying off.
