Yesterday I spent a couple hours with John Hubbell in SE Harford County.? Highlights below:

Tydings Marina:
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 1 adult with ~300 Ring-billed Gulls and ~50 Herrings
Common Goldeneye - 50+ seen well to the south of the marina, difficult to see if there was anything else at that distance
Common Merganser - 3
Hooded Merganser - 5

Market/Alliance St in Havre de Grace:
I had stopped when a Northern Mockingbird did a visual imitation of a Townsend's Solitaire at the top of a spruce tree.
Pine Warbler - 1 adult male actively calling and foraging in a deciduous tree, no other small passerines around

Oakington peninsula:
Gray Catbird - 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 2

Swan Harbor:
Chipping Sparrow - 1 my first ever in January for Harford, not unexpected here on the Coastal Plain since Kim and I have found them 2 years in a row on the Rock Run CBC in Cecil County on the Piedmont
Northern Pintail - 2
Green-winged Teal - 1
Cackling Goose - 1 nominate subspecies

Today (1/20) Kim spotted a Chipping Sparrow coming to her parent's feeder in Forest Hill.? So the day I after my first January Chippie in Harford, I get to see one on the Piedmont.? It seemed to be hanging out with 6 Juncos.? Not all that unusual for them to do in winter.
