This is a late post and I don't have an exact location but thought folks
might be interested (and envious).
A friend of mine- not a birder - who lives in Takoma Park was sitting
at her computer one evening last week when a Saw-whet owl landed on her
windowsill and the two of them sat there looking at each other for 4 or
5 minutes. She got on-line and looked up owls and is very certain it
was a saw-whet and after talking with her I think she is correct. Now
how is that for a yard bird sighting.
I told her she should look for a daytime roost site in the neighborhood
but have not heard anything from her.
