Hughes Hollow, afternoon of January 16:  Red-tailed Hawk, two Red-
shouldered Hawks keeping company although always perching apart, Turkey 
Vulture. Barred Owl being mobbed by Fish Crows and American Crows. Red-
headed Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Downy Woodpeckers, Flicker. 
At least two flocks of blue birds, also flocks of Yellow-rumps, Phoebe, White-
breasted Nuthatches, Chickadees, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Song Sparrows, 
White-throated Sparrows and Towhee. Temperature 38 degrees F. but very 
calm and pleasant. Water now filling up the wetlands south of Hunting Quarter 
Road.
