This is a little bit off of the MD bird topic, but when I dropped by
http://www.borealbirds.org I saw this link for CATALOG CHOICE.

It's related in that birds. An estimated 79% of the species' North
American population breeds within the Boreal Forest. So, it's related
to MD birding in a way.

Catalog Choice is easy. It's a free service that allows you to
decline unsolicited catalogs, reducing the number of catalogs in your
mailbox and lightening your footprint on the environment.

The website is: http://www.catalogchoice.org/signup

Once you are there, you can pick and chose the catalogs you don't want
sent to you. Every little bit helps! And if at all possible, send
this site to a friend or two. I don't know about you, but I get tons
of catalogs and I have no idea how they got my name, info, etc. This
is a nice, quick way to save some trees, a few birds and you'll make
your mail carrier much happier!

And to make it more official, I'm headed to (hopefully) see the SHORT
EARED OWLS of Carroll County. Any thoughts on whether tomorrow (snow)
or Friday (?) would be a better evening to attend the flight
demonstration?

All the best,

Dan Haas
