Confirming that at least one RB nuthatch continues at
my feeders, also gives me the opportunity to comment

1. on the reappearance of 4 horned larks near
Burkittsville on 2/21 at the 7th Day Adventist Church
gravel lot.

2. I've also been noticing the some of the goldfinches
(males presumably) are starting to show bright patches
of yellow feathering around the face and in "islands"
on their backs.

3. I hadn't checked for a while, but noticed over the
weekend that the pokeberries that had gone unmolested
since early fall are now simply GONE...!!! A
mockingbird was working the plants for the few
remaining berries during the recent cold.
