I have RB Nuthatches regularly at my feeders and in my yard, there are at least 2 regulars, more I think, I can hear several tooting. The was a YB Sapsucker drilling my oak this morning, tho I did not see it - thats new, haven't had them at all this year.
I've have a couple of purple finch (4-5) that show up irregularly - they were at the feeders Tuesday? The lbbs my Hub saw earlier this week might have been the sisken back again but I have not confirmed this ("yellowy sparrows"), they might have been WT Sparrows 'tho they dont' usually get on the feeders. The goldfinch have returned from wherever they went for a while and they brought some Juncoes with them - I haven't really seen the Juncoes in any numbers at all this year (last year they were everywhere) and have only heard a couple a few times. Tuesday, oh no Monday, they were back - a small flock perhaps, only saw 6-8 individuals but could hear more in the trees and bushes.

The owls are back to having long "conversations" again but they are much shorter now and there are fewer individuls in the conversation (Great Horned). They chat fairly regularly at about 9pm if its quiet in the neighbourhood.

The were many more than usual geese by Herrington Harbour the past couple of days

one, and once there were two, to report to the weekly FeederWatch. Still
no Pine Siskin, but I've had a couple Purple Finches.

I'm happy to report that a male RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH
continues to visit our feeders in Laurel (PG County) -- I've
only missed him a couple times during weekly FeederWatch
counts that started in mid-November. Are others still
seeing this species regularly?

Less frequent, but still regular, is a YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER (female; sometimes a male shows up too).

No signs of the siskins and Purple Finches of late last
year.

Good birding!

D

P.S. COOPER'S HAWK is fairly regular now too. And feral
cats unfortunately. :(
