Queen Annes birds of Jan 27 and 28

 Hi all  just a quick note to report some bird seen in QA  county  on Jan 27 and 28 

1 - 27 - 08      Rolling Bridge Rd  near Rt 301 Centreville   ponds in area  mostly frozen over   this pond  half open 

Great Blue Heron            1
Ring Necked Duck      119 
Mallard                         27
Pintail                             2
Snow  Goose                    1
Canada Geese                57



I checked  Les Roslund's      Longspur  spot in Q A   from  Last week near Ruthsburg     but only found  3  Horned Larks    and a flock  of Snow Geese    several hundred birds way out in the field   to far out  to look thru for rarer Geese.

Cabin Creek       boat landing    Grasonville  Md      near the lane of   CBEC   [ Horsehead ]    Mid Afternoon 

The   show here was the Hooded  Mergansers .    The males were showing off for the  ladies  doing some displays .  It was quite interesting to see .     They would stick  out their necks then arching them in a slow manner 
Then once in a while   chasing other males  white hoods flared out the whole time  alao staying  in  a  loose flock
