Carol, we did wend our way down to Riley Roberts Road last evening
as you'd suggested.

We missed the tricolored and LB herons, but did
see the 5:45 evening express of 50+ Black-crowned Night Herons
And, 10 mins earlier, a flyby American Bittern as well as,
on the way in, a large, dark brown night raptor flying into the
piney woods. Couldn't see his horns, but he was graceful
and mysterious as he slide among the tree trunks.

Thanks, also, to the good Talbot Co. BC folks who helped us find the
greater-white fronted goose on Egypt Road

At the Eagle's Nest Campground construction site, the small flock of
brown-headed nuthatches was flitting around the pines at the end of the
road.
