I saw the crossbill this morning. I first saw it at 7:25; it fed briefly from a tray feeder then flew up into the tree next to the deck and perched there for another 5+ minutes before flying off. Life bird for me!!

Many thanks to those who emailed me regarding seeing eagles in the area. I have a question about the eagles at Conowingo Dam. Is their tendency to congregate affected by the river level? The river is supposed to be quite high this weekend so I'm wondering if the high water/turbidity will make it more or less likely for them to be congregated where they usually are. If anyone has been up there at high water and can advise me I'd appreciate it. Was planning to go up there Sat or Sun but reluctant to burn the gas if the high water is likely to make the trip a bust. You can email me at B i r d N e r d 3 at a o l dot c o m. THANKS!!!
