I got out to the area of the Lincoln Monument yesterday.  The pool at
Constitution Gardens is partially drained, and all the diving ducks were
gone.  Remaining were the coots, mallards, Canada geese, a male American
Wigeon, two American Black ducks and a male Northern Shoveller.  

   Today I walked out on the Mall, and saw my first spring migrants!!!!
A small flock of male Common Grackles was in the trees by the Hirshhorn,
calling and investigating old nests.
