This (Sat., 2/16) morning I took my friends and their 2 kids out to look for
BALD EAGLES.  We saw 1 adult at Ft. McNair that was very cooperative and
gave great views.  Other birds of note include:  1 MERLIN at Hains Pt. and 1
NORTHERN SHOVELER that continues at Constitution Gardens.
They are drawing the water down at Constitution Gardens, so there are no
diving ducks.  But the number of Am. Black Ducks seems up from last time
(c.8).  Also, some trees came down at Hains, including a dead tree near the
maintenance road that was favored by Merlins.  I believe one or two other
large trees near the tip are down - not sure if they were cut or fell in the
recent wind storm.  The dead tree looks like it was blown down by the wind.
