February 20 (Wednesday)  8:00 p.m. Birding Uganda:  The Pearl of Africa  
Speaker:  Gail Mackiernan  The small country of Uganda, an increasingly 
popular birding destination, bridges the faunal zones of East and Central Africa 
and has one of the continent's largest bird lists. Gail and Barry Cooper recently 
spent 25 days in Uganda visiting most of the major game and national parks, 
recording almost 550 species of birds, including Shoebill, African Broadbill, 
Giant Eagle Owl and Pennant-winged Nightjar, and enjoying superb scenery, 
including Murchison Falls, Lake Victoria and the misty Virunga Mountains.  All 
are welcome to enjoy Gail's slides of this trip.

Meetings are held at the Potomac Presbyterian Church, 10301 River Road (1/4 
mile past Falls Road in Potomac.) Refreshments at 7:30 pm. Meeting begins at 
8:00 pm. Everyone is invited.
